Frequently Asked Questions

Is my payment safe when I buy something?

Yes. Your payment goes into an escrow-style hold through Trustap the moment you check out — the seller never receives it until you've confirmed the item arrived as described. If it doesn't show up or doesn't match the listing, you can file a dispute before funds are ever released.

What if the item isn't as described?

Don't confirm receipt. Instead, open a dispute through Trustap — their resolution team reviews evidence from both sides before any money moves. Funds only reach the seller once you're satisfied, or a dispute is resolved.

What if my package is lost or arrives damaged?

If tracking shows no movement for 10 days (domestic) or 21 days (international), that counts as lost in transit and qualifies you for a refund of the item price and shipping cost through Trustap's dispute process.

How much does it cost to sell on Outfitter Exchange?

Nothing to list — posting is completely free, no matter how many ads you post. If an item sells, Outfitter Exchange takes a 12% commission out of that sale, deducted automatically from your payout (8% goes to Outfitter Exchange, 4% is your share of Trustap's escrow-style fee). If it never sells, you owe nothing. The buyer separately covers the other 1% + $0.40 of that escrow-style fee at checkout, which doesn't affect what you receive.

Do I need an account to buy something?

You can browse and search without one, but checking out requires a free account — it's how we keep your shipping address, order history, and messages with sellers all in one place.

Can I purchase multiple items with one transaction?

No — because of Trustap's escrow-style payment process, each order has to be its own separate transaction. You can still add multiple items to your cart and check them out one at a time.

Can I message a seller before buying?

Yes — every listing has a "Message Seller" option on its detail page, useful for asking about condition, sizing, bundling, or negotiating price before you commit to buying.

Can I edit a listing after I've posted it?

Yes — go to My Account > My Listings and select Edit on any active (unsold) listing to update the price, description, photos, or condition at any time.

What do I do if a listing looks like it breaks the rules?

Click "Report this listing" on the listing's page and pick a reason. It goes straight into our moderation queue — flagging doesn't take the listing down automatically, but it makes sure a real person reviews it.
